Canine Territorial Aggression
Aggression which occurs in the context of a familiar environment. These environments can be a home (esp. surrounding activity at the front door), fenced yard or while on leash. It is important to understand that territorial activity is a NORMAL behavior is dogs. Protection of a resource such as territory is necessary for survival of the individual and the species. Treatment includes:

  • Avoiding uncontrolled greetings of strangers on walks.
  • Training the dog to be relaxed
  • Gradually introducing the provoking stimulus

But if we expand our minds a bit further, "cattle" may bring up thoughts of cowboys, Texas, herds pounding the dust, or merely grazing dully in the pasture. But none of these titles, no matter how far we pursue them, conjure up images of steamy tropical rainforest or gravely imperiled species. A cow may be beautiful in its own domesticated sort-of-way, but there is nothing wild in it, nothing enchanting. However like most generalizations, this idea of cattle falls to pieces when one encounters, whether in literature or life, the banteng.
